Where Spreadsheets Meet Humanity
We believe that the best businesses and buildings happen when everyone wins—owners, employees, customers, and communities. (We’ve learned that managing people is nothing like managing portfolios.)
From Chemistry to Cabinets to Capital
I studied chemistry at Wheaton College and thought I’d teach. A detour into commercial real estate had me analyzing debt and managing assets. I figured I was ready to be a business “operator.” Turns out I had the financial side down—but managing people? That was a whole different skill set.
At 27, I bought a cabinet refinishing business with 90% debt and a personal guarantee. Day one, an employee asked if I had any experience. Humbling.
Two years later: growing revenue, fewer emotional breakdowns. Treating people well turned out to be the most profitable (and sustainable) strategy. The numbers matter, but they only work when your people trust you.
Call it seeking truth, beauty, and goodness in investments—or just call it common sense that’s surprisingly uncommon.
What I Do
We look for businesses and properties where the financial models actually make sense AND everyone involved can thrive. That means family-owned companies with great teams, multifamily properties that enhance neighborhoods, and deals where "value-add" doesn't mean "fire everyone and pray."
SMB Acquisitions
$500K-$5M EBITDA businesses where the owner genuinely cares about their people. Companies where employees stay and customers come back.
Deal Consulting
Financial modeling, structuring, and valuation for people buying businesses. No theory—practical guidance from someone who’s actually done it.
Real Estate Deals
Multifamily where tenants want to live. Office where people want to work. Hospitality with actual hospitality. After analyzing billions in CRE, I’ve seen what works—and what doesn’t.
Financial Modeling
Excel models that reflect reality, not wishful thinking. The stuff that keeps most owners up at night is where I do my best work.
